If I’m honest I’ve been looking forward to Finn coming up to stay at Loubar with a mixture of thrill and anxiety…would he like it, get bored, want to go home, want to watch telly?

Since I’ve been going up here, the weather has only been wonderful and of course the night we arrived the heavans opened and it rained for 3 days….
My anxiety mounted as I wondered what the hell we were going to do on Loubar with the clouds so thick you couldn’t even see xaouen, let alone enjoy the great outdoors.

Thank god for micro climates and thus whist it poured on Loubar, we switced locations for Oued laou (no, we didn’t go pedlleowing), the wonderful Talassemtane National Park and the Cascades Oued El Kelaa.
Not only did this get us out of the rain and in to gloriously green countryside, it gave me a chance to have a peek at both land and house designs.

The Talassemtane National Park is little visited by foreigners, which to our great loss, it’s simly stunning and currently getting alot of attention from both the Moroccan government and the Andaluce Junta, who are setting up various hiking trails, all very in fitting wth the beautiful surroundings…

It must be said tho, litter is a huge problem! And not only in the park…I took the image above just driving out of Fez….little more needs to be said to get involved in the Lutte Contre Les sacs Plastiques.
Back in Talassemtane and despite the bracing temperature of the water, Finn only wanted to get in time and again……it’s at times like these when I wonder whether fatherhood might have been better younger!, but he loved it and we had a glorious time..thanks Finn.

There was of course another major event awaiting Finn back at the farm...the dogs and I think it might have snowed, hailed and stormed and he’d have been happy as a boy surrounded by puppies….love? Gushing! Day time or night.
But it wasn’t all snuggling up with his bitches…despite his ongoing requests for Flynn and her prodigy to join us in bed, Finn made the most of testing out both the sleeping and eating arrangements, going as far as preparing a camp fire to warm our toes by whilst nibbling on a chicken tajine…..I oozed pride…of course I did.

Mucking in wherever possible, he checked the dogs for ticks, fed the dogs, searched for the dogs if they got out of eye sight…and of course managed to extend his animal interests to hunting for lizards, watching out for bats and looking after the donkeys too….

In all, I think he had a great time…I know I did…thanks Finn.
Oh and of course, lest we forget…we also did some work, more and was levelled, more rocks were found and cleared ad despite the rain, progress was made…but this wasn’t about that….that’s next week.
